While we may from time to time have stock of certain items, most of our artwork are made to order and our lead time is currently 6-8 weeks. If you need your art piece sooner than that, please email us before placing an order at info@studiohasharat to inquire about the possibility of a rush order.

Please note that because we use real insects, some shape and color variation is to be expected. We may also substitute some of the less prominent specimens in a piece to accommodate for availability in our supply, which is weather and season dependent. This should not affect the overall appearance of the piece.

We offer specialized entomological display boxes, modern glass domes and 19th century antique glass domes to protect and showcase the artwork.

Our display boxes are museum-quality, made by entomology specialists in France. They are made of wood, upholstered in canvas and are lined with foam which allows the insects to be pinned and not glued. This allows the insects to be transferred through time, even if the display case were to get damaged. We can create custom arrangements that are scientific, decorative, or both, tailored to your preferences and size requirements.

The 19th century glass domes are sourced from antique markets in France and they are all unique in shape and sizes. These are extremely fragile, and cannot be shipped. Special courier delivery must be arranged or they can be picked-up from our Manhattan location.

The process of preserving insects dates back thousands of years, to the times of the Pharaohs in ancient Egypt. The tools may have modernised but the core techniques and principles have perdured. Our mission is to take the science and elevate it in a quest for aesthetics, all the while preserving the natural beauty of these delicate creatures.

Each specimen is expertly mounted, with legs and sometimes wings meticulously spread to showcase their full splendor. This captures the insects in a posture that is both true to how they would be found in nature, and aesthetically pleasing, highlighting their intricate patterns, and vibrant colors. If properly cared for, your insect collection can last a lifetime.

Properly preserved insect specimens can last a life time, if properly cared for, and many collections are passed down generation to generation. Please keep the lid of your insect box closed at all times, and only clean the outside of the case. The biggest culprit in damage to insect displays is humidity so make sure to keep your art away from bathrooms, or other damp environments. Avoid exposing your collection to direct sunlight for long periods. If you can, for maximum maintenance, place your box in a freezer for a couple of days every coupe of years, this will help preventing parasites.

We’re always here to help so do not hesitate to reach out at info@studiohasharat.com if you have any maintenance or care questions.
